Edwin Leeansyah is a tenure-track Associate Professor at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), Tsinghua University. Dr. Leeansyah’s research group seeks to understand the roles of MAIT cells in infection and immunity within barrier tissues, particularly within the gut. To that end, his group has recently developed the emerging three-dimensional human intestinal organoid technology to test different hypotheses regarding the role of MAIT cells in gastrointestinal bacterial infections, inflammation, and immunity. His research is primarily supported by Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Tsinghua SIGS, and the Shenzhen Municipality Pengcheng Peacock Program.
